The Get Down:< /a>
Born on a Monday night at a bar near a beach, The Get Down has delivered fine tuned grooves with deep pockets and heady heads and melodies at its weekly residency at one of the finest venues in Santa Cruz. Sax player Cole Colon brought the band together as the host band of a Monday night funk jam that includes Tyler Larson on bass, Dave Faulkner on organ, Brad Friedman on Drums and Duncan Shipton on Guitar. Musical interests include Bill Withers, Grant Green, The Meters, Greyboy Allstars, Wild Magnolias, swing jazz, motown, afrobeat, and obscure old school funk.

Madeline Tasquin:
Accompanying herself on piano, guitar and ukulele, Canadian-Californian songcrafter Madeline Tasquin weaves from jazz folk to soul ballads in odd meters to playful harmonic pop to delicately dark musical fairytales, delivering it all with a stage presence that radiates joy. With influences including Primus to Billie Holiday to Joni Mitchell to Chopin, it's no surprise that her songs takes harmonic and rhythmic twists and turns, though whether performing solo or fronting one of her bands, she manages to pull this off without leaving anyone in the room behind.
